Price is worth it. You get what you pay for. We had a great time here and the hotel public areas and property are massive. BYOBooze and food and you’ll have a good time. The views are crazy good right now and location is convenient. If you can read directions the showers work fine. Beds were comfy and host was great. Plus dog friendly and property next to a soothing river. It’s not a 5-star hotel but a vintage classic that brings back childhood skiing vibes.

I cannot understate how shocking this “inn” is. No smoke alarms, out of date fire extinguishers, no staff, rooms in lounge and “game room” are dark. There is a community kitchen which is a commercial kitchen that I would be scared to eat out of. Furniture is in disrepair. Road was not plowed and the kitchen area is a mess. I cannot believe this place is operating. It is something out of a horror movie.
I am leaving as soon as possible. Do yourself a favor and stay at a hotel in Glenwood Springs.
The other reviews with high stars are from years ago and the photos are not accurate to 2024.

We left immediately because of the deplorable conditions. It's been 2 days and still no one has replied to our email refund request. No manager is available by phone.

-We arrived and no staff was there. The building was dark and seemed almost abandoned. The key was left on the desk and was to the wrong room, but the correct room was unlocked.
-The tile in the bathroom was crumbled and broken
-Dirt came out of the bath pipe.
-The toilet was continuously running off and on and making noise
-The light in the bathroom had a loose connection and was blinking off and on.
-The room felt unheated and the space heater couldn't provide adequate heat in Colorado winter.

The man at the number on the envelope said it would take him an hour to arrive, and he had no authority to do refunds.

I filed a dispute with my credit card company, so hopefully they will help me get the stolen money back.

We are sad that the place has been so severely neglected, because we stayed here 3 years ago and had a wonderful experience.

This was our first time to this location, and we were extremely disappointed. First, the Airbnb website upon booking stated that this was a bed and breakfast, when this was actually at an inn. The pictures on the website were obviously from the previous owner, and none and I do mean NONE of the furniture was still there as the property must have been sold. The pictures showed that there was a game room with a TV, but because that area was dark, it was hard to verify if any of those amenities were available or even still there. When entering the room, it was small, outdated, and lacking heat, and lacking a TV as well.. Wall outlets were scarce, and of the one in plain site was literally hanging off of the wall. They did provide a small rotating heater for the room for heat purposes, which means when using it, that the bathroom was cold during the night as well as in the morning. The shower had a water conservation method with a chain on it, so resetting the shower had to be done moreso by the first person showering because of how long it takes for the water to heat up and get warm for use. Overall, this property needs a serious remodel, and more updated pictures that show the true condition of the property, which would help when booking because all of the advertisement we researched for this location seems to be quite misleading and false in all of their outdated advertising.

The stay at Sunlight Mountain Inn was incredible. I couldn't get enough of the views of the ski hill and the surrounding mountains, the beautiful hiking trails and the gorgeous little creek that runs through the back yard. Having a public kitchen where you can store your food and a stove where you can make your own meals was very nice. They also have a nice bar area where residents can use. Final positive note: The staff are INCREDIBLY friendly and nice, if you have any questions they are more than willing to help. Only warning I give is that some areas of the deck were in poor repair and the rooms were small and rustic in nature, so if you are looking for a fancy hotel, this may NOT be the place for you.

Absolutely love this place it's location to the lifts, the no frills atmosphere the lounge area downstairs is a lot of fun with friends and family. My absolute favorite is the commercial kitchen I used to be a cook many years ago brought back lots of good memories.

We booked the entire inn through AirBnB. I even confirmed with the host that when I booked the place we would get it all. However when we arrived there around 8 to 9 PM there were people walking around, we were unsure who they were at first until we noticed that we didn't get the entire place and that 5 of the rooms were reserved for staff, which caused confusion as we were needing those rooms to host guests. The problems started once one of my guests was watching the one TV with cable and then the staff just came in and changed the channel while he was watching it. Another issue was that one guest was in a room and then someone just poked their head in, noticed it was occupied and walked away. However they proceeded to walk off out of the property since none of the outside doors locked and the staff didn't wear anything to distinguish themselves, we weren't sure if it was just a random person or the staff.
Also this place is way more run down than shown in the pictures on BnB. The floors where broken in some spots, the deck was falling apart, there was one section I stepped on and I sank for a second thinking I was going to break it. There was scrap would lying around outside, along with only 3 to 4 chairs that looked ready to break around the fire pit.
I was really hoping this place would be great for our wedding, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. Whatever has happened here in the last year or so is really unfortunate. We only stayed there for an hour or two before relocating up the road at Brettelberg.

Always so accommodating. Friendly owner that really wants you to enjoy your stay. If you are looking for being pampered this isn't the lodge. It's older and Jason is constantly tackling the renovations he can. No TVs in the room, older beds, outdated bathrooms but great common areas. This is a place to get away from it all. I saw the rooms at Hotel Colorado and they aren't much different except TV's. Who needs a TV when in Glenwood? The breakfast is okay, but honestly the wonderful homey feeling is worth it all. There's a nice patio, wonderful fireplace, you can see people skiing, go on a snowmobile tour, talk to the owner who is a wonderful down to earth guy with a lot of knowledge of Glenwood. Yes, like other reviews mention, it needs updating, it's not modern, there's dogs and at least one cat so be warned if you have allergies. IF you are expecting an upgraded lodge with upgraded conveniences and linens, this isn't your place. But the sheer abundance of atmosphere and rustic old Glenwood wins. There's always great people to meet and chat with at breakfast and a great bar downstairs. It's tucked away from downtown. We always enjoy our stay and plan on more. It's old Colorado.
