I spent the majority of the year before my transplant in the hospital and a couple of times since. All of my nurses have been fantastic. There are many that went above and beyond. I could tell the ones that truly cared about my condition. I was in pretty rough shape most of the time they took care of me. Some developed friendships during my stay and would come check on me even if they weren't my nurse that day. I spent time on several floors of the hospital. I cant complain about the care I received. I would highly recommend the care given here to anyone. The housekeeping may not be the greatest always, but the supervisor tries to stay on top of it and any complaint I had were quickly addressed. The kitchen was under construction the majority of my stays, but the guy that came around to take orders was always extremely friendly and did his best to help me find stuff on the menu I would like. A funny story...after my transplant, I wouldn't eat much. He realized I liked blueberry and peach yogurt so on every tray I got he made sure it had blueberry and peach yogurt on it because he knew I would eat that. I thought it was really sweet of him to make sure I got something I would eat. I haven't eaten much yogurt since then 🤣 but I am thankful he was so thoughtful. I ate every bit of it that he brought me 🤣

My loved one has been there twice now and every time the nurses have been amazing but the doctors are not very kind. They treat you like a object and a pay check. A women was crying because she needed help and no one would help her for a hour so my loved ones nurse had to step in. Someone needs to call the health board or something and get someone in there to see how unorganized and unprofessional and unkind they are.

I wouldn't recommend it to no one. The only thing the hospital cares about is their research programs. They don't care about their patients. Dr.Villiano was my loved ones, Oncologist for a year. We were recently in the hospital for 3 weeks, and not once did he check on us. Very disappointed in this hospital stay. They were supposed to send my loved one to rehabilitation to become independent again, but let him become weaker in the hospital and he is now home with hospice. Very disappointing.

On September 7, 2024, I was a victim of an active shooter on interstate 75 near London, Kentucky. I was taken by helicopter to the UK heath care Albert B. Chandler hospital.

My care there with only one exception was fantastic. The trauma team, emergency department, nurses, technicians therapists, dietary and housekeeping personnel were all friendly, conscientious and great at their jobs.

One nurse named Barbara who worked on discharge planning, was the only exception to my excellent care.

Barbara works a nursing job that does not provide bedside care. She was going over her discharge plans for me.

I have a bullet hole in my left upper thigh. I cannot see this wound directly. While in the hospital, one physician and several nurses packed this wound with saline soaked gauze. These people are trained to pack the wound. They were standing behind me and using TWO HANDS to pack this wound.

“Nurse” Barbara’s solution for acceptable home wound care was to have me hold a mirror in one hand and use the other hand to pack the wound. As stated earlier, trained doctors and nurses require TWO hands to safely accomplish this task to maintain sterility. Preventing infection is paramount in this situation.

In the weeks since my discharge, my opinion of “Nurse” Barbara is that she is out of touch with good patient education. I also believe she is lazy and did not want to take the time to help set up out of state discharge care.

The name of my primary care physician in Indiana was well documented on my chart. One phone call to Indiana would have alerted my doctor that I needed additional care.

Shame on this nurse for being so negligent.

I came here to visit my nephew on the 11th floor, the waiting room when you get off the elavator and go to the right, ive been here for over 4 days the trash has not been changed its piled high, the women's bathroom was FILTHY! Trash hasnt been changed in the women's bathroom used cotex was in the floor, dirty paper wipes on the floor, paper towels FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT! The door on the smaller stall in the women's bathroom is broken, you can't even lock it! Yesterday around 6PM one of the cleaner girls came by with her little cleaning cart my daughter and i sitting there waiting and this cleaner girl sat down in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and just sat and played on her phone and she was right in front of the trash can with the trash in it running over, and after she took her little "break" she just got up and grabbed her little cleaning cart and kept walking DID NOT EVEN CHANGE THE BAG IN THE WAITING ROOM AND SHE SAW IT AND WOULDNT EVEN CHANGE IT!!! It is currently 6:20 in the morning as I write this review and I kid you not the trash in that waiting room is still FULL! Bathroom is still DISGUSTING!!! This is a hospital, its supposed to be a CLEAN and STERILE place for patients and visitors. Yet' thats how the bathroom is going look and the waiting room as well? Throughly disgusting and disappointing, my 19 year old daughter even said she was sick of seeing it and would have just asked someone to get her some gloves and the cleaning supplies she needed to clean it up herself and THATS NOT HER JOB, she said she would have done it herself but was afraid of what kind of diseases she could catch if she did because its unsanitary. Whoever runs this wing or hospital needs to really do better on this.

The Nurses and staff here were very compassionate and accommodating. I was treated respectfully, and made to feel comfortable during my stay. The food was good, and if you ever need a snack-they will provide them. All around one of the best Hospitals in Kentucky!

Lazy employees who do not care about the patients. They are there for a paycheck and not for healthcare.
If your family member is going to be the only one there, take them somewhere else!!! They do not care about individual patients that have no help from family. They expect family to do everything for the patient…. But guarantee you patient will get a bill like nurses did everything.

Got into the ED around 11:30am...first Dr, listened (so I thought) so they say, we will do blood work, a CT, x ray, EKG, and ultrasound, etc.

Blood work done around 12:15. Into a bed, IN THE HALLWAY around 12:20...X-ray done around 12:45, CT ordered at 1:00...CT scan didn't get done until 3:30...i lay there for another hour, dr comes in ans says in a very slow, nervous voice .."blood work looks okay..15 sec pause. CT looks (3 second pause) normal. Discharge me okay ...so none of my results are on my portal...so I called this morning, and this is what I got ...

Me: "yes, I was just wondering why on my discharge papers, and my portal, everything is on there but my results...can you tell me why?"
Lady: "if they are not on your portal, the results are not ready"
Me: "hmm, so lemme ask you this...how can a Dr discharge someone without even having the results?"
Me: "I can't answer that for you, I am not a nurse"

All I can say is wow. Worse experience I've EVER had.
