I can recommend the “Hard hat tour”
From the moment you step in, you’ll feel the unique charm of this place. The distillery offers a fascinating glimpse into the art of bourbon-making, and the captivating aroma of the “Angel’s Share” (the evaporating alcohol during aging) fills the air—an unforgettable sensory experience.

Another standout feature is the gift shop. Not only can you find great souvenirs, but you also have the opportunity to purchase premium bourbons.

For collectors and enthusiasts: certain editions, like the legendary BLANTON’S SINGLE BARREL BOURBON, are only available every 90 days. I was lucky enough to get a bottle—a true treasure! What makes it even more exciting is the collection aspect: there are eight different bottles, each with unique horse-and-rider toppers, perfect for collecting.

Das begeistert und bleibt im Kopf hängen

Die Anlage ist gut zu Fuß begehbar, wer fragt kann auch mit einem Golfcart gefahren werden. Ein Parkplatz befindet sich direkt am Eingang der Brennerei.

Alles ist schön zugänglich und vermittelt einen guten Eindruck von der Brennerei

Im Giftshoo gibt es tolle Erinnerungsstücke und Whisky zu kaufen. Eine Variante Whisky ist immer für 90Tage im Angebot und kostet fast nur die Hälfte des Preises außerhalb der Brennerei
Ich habe mir natürlich eine Flasche gekauft und werde der Marke treu bleiben.

Leider bekommt man das Wichtigste nicht gezeigt... Die Brennblasen!

Ich habe über einhundert unterschiedliche Destillen besucht, aber das war die Erste, bei der man weder das Brennverfahren, noch die Brennblase zu Gesicht bekommt.

Five stars all around. Best tour, best everything. Get your tickets online ahead of time as this was the one tour that was hard to book. Every part of the tour was excellent, the check in process was a breeze, tastings in the shop area outside of the tasting with the tour part, and tour was excellent. Tour guide Jeremey was the best tour guide I had out of all the distillery tours. He made the experience fun! You walk around a bit but there’s so much to see that you don’t even notice. There’s so much to see and so much history that you are entertained the whole time. We got to see some bottling, some barrels rolling, some storage and some tasting. Wish the tasting was a sit down situation. The shop had so many things to buy and a good selection of bottles to buy. Overall, the best experience I could have asked for and exceeded all my expectations.

A large group of us (co-workers) came here since we were in Lexington for work and the experience was great! Lee Ann was our hostess/tour guide/Brainy Burbon Babe…. She knew an incredible amount about everything to do with this place, which we found fun and educational! The entire facility is amazing and learning about it through the tour is awesome! I’m not much into bourbon, but I thoroughly enjoyed this visit and I’d return!

By far one of the best tours on the Bourbon Trail! We were there for a barrel pick so we got a bit more than the regular tour. Our guide was amazing, we saw so much in 2 hours. The gift shop had a lot of great items and even some quality bourbon that you can't find in the store (changes daily).

Buffalo Trace Distillery is a must for any bourbon lover! The free tours are engaging and packed with history, but they book up well in advance—so plan ahead! If you get there early, you might just luck into a same-day spot.

The distillery has been producing bourbon for over 200 years, even operating during Prohibition for "medicinal purposes." It’s home to the world's most award-winning bourbon and has survived fires, floods, and even tornadoes! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, the tastings are fantastic, and the experience is unforgettable.
